Achievements

2003, road map for Campus network was drawn and the process for its implementation was initiated .

2004, Campus network with optical fiber Connectivity was put into operation. The internet and other facilities were extended to the users for 24*7 hours

2005, the Campus Network was formally Inaugurated. The Campus network facilities were extended to establish Internet lab at Dhanvantri Library. Video conferencing facility through campus network was established for Global interactive Programme between East Carilona and Jammu University at Dhanvantri library.

2005, New website domain www.jammuuniversity.in with web based email and online results facility was launched.

2006 Jan, to Strengthen the existing network it was decided to establish Wi-Fi technology and to converge it with the existing optical fiber backbone network .

2006 march, the project for the implementation of wireless network was drawn to connect V.C lodge , hostels and Hot Spots with the latest features of wireless like 802.11 g/b , 54 mbps data transfer rates , 256 bit encryptions and authentication server with all security components.

2008, more Indoor access points are installed to provide better and efficient services to the users so they can roam and browse internet and other applications like access to the journals etc. anywhere with in the campus.

2009 March, Optical Fiber Extended upto V.C Lodge and all three Girls Hostels.

2010 January, Optical Fiber layed down from Internet and Networking Control room Control Room to three boy’s hostel, General Zorawar Singh auditorium, Academic Staff College and Human Genetics Department.

2010 March, Upgradation of Bandwidth from 12 mbps to 30 mbps.
