Besides upgrading the syllabus of courses being taught at PG leve from time to time, a fresh optional course of two credit namely Application of Computer in Geology was introduced at the 4th Sem of PG programme some six years back. The course ws well received by students and the result of the examination in said course was satisfactory.

     (Tangdhar and Uri Tehsils) in November 2005.

2.  Discovered Fossil Mammothus and associated stone tools from Karewa beds of

    Kashmir in 2000 (which sheds light on direct evidence of hunting only next to Gesher

    Benot, Israel).  The fossil has been donated to the Sheik Noor-ud-Din Noorani Museum of

    Heritage, University of Jammu.
