18. Have you made any contribution towards development/change in courses
during last five years? If yes, give details.
I have always been associated with the Department of Zoology for keeping apace with the UGC curriculum. I am the member of the committee, which has designed and adapted the new curriculum of B.Sc. and M.Sc. courses in Zoology as per the UGC guidelines. Being a member of various board of studies, I have been playing a positive role in upgradation and ;modification in the syllabi from time to time. This exercise has already benefited many of our students who have successfully completed various competitive examinations including NET of UGC/CSIR and SET examination of J&K State.
19. What innovations in teaching-learning process have you introduced in the last five years?
As member of Board of Study in Zoology and Fisheries, I proposed New short-term but self-supportive courses. And Department of Zoology in Collaboration with DDE floated P.G. Programme in Fisheries through distant mode of education, which aims at promoting human resource for undertaking self employment through the ;use of technical know how acquired through this course. The overwhelming response has triggered us to further be inquisitive for designing more informal short-term courses for farmers/panchayats/bureaucrats so that laboratory to field progarammes are innovated and realized to fit the national needs of our country. Needless to say such type of courses would ameliorate the social and economic well-being of rural masses. Besides, I innovated new practicals for M.Sc,. Zoology on the basis of new findings and research.

i) Being a member of Board of Studies in Fisheries and Zoology and subject member in Fisheries I have played a vital role in extension of this subject through vocational self financed M.Sc. course in Fisheries through DDE, University of Jammu of Which I am the co-ordinator as of now. As subject members, I have contributed to the formulation of P.G. course syllabi and writing of material needed by DDE for Fisheries students. I have also incorporated extension studies in ecology and limnology for M.Sc. students. Needless to say that this is an extension of UGC envisaged vocational courses for the colleges. The course has provided an opportunity to employed and under qualified candidates on one hand and qualified unemployed candidates desirous of starting their ventures on the other hand.
ii) In order to acquaint the students with the various activities of the fisheries and limnology, they are regularly being taken to field/fish farms for the on spot survey of the water bodies and to have the knowledge of various techniques which are being used.
