The Department offers courses for the following
degrees in Botany.
M. Sc. Programme in Botany
M. Phil.
Ph. D.
At present below listed theory courses, of 3 credit value
each, are prescribed for the 1st, IInd, IIIrd and IVth Semesters
of Master's Programme in Botany. Every student is required
to earn 15 theory credits and 9 lab credits per semester.
Each semester runs for 14 to 16 weeks and the entire M.
Sc. programme takes 2 years to complete.

* Students will have the choice to opt for one elective
course each in IIIrd and IVth semesters.
In addition to the class and lab work, every student is
required to go on field studies. The Department helps the
students in this exercise by organizing various collection
trips within and outside the State. The students are required
to compile field books and submit the same at the time of
practical examination.
The Department holds regular competitions in various curricular
and extra curricular activities. All the students are expected
and encouraged to participate.
