University of Jammu has the honour
of being one and the only University in India, rather
in whole world, which offers the facility of post
graduate teaching of Dogri language and literature
and research. As such the P.G. Department of Dogri
is making unmatched contribution for the development
of Dogri. As there is no other agency to cater the
need of research in Dogri, most of the research work
on various aspects of Language, Literature, culture,
history folklore and script is being conducted by
the department.
Besides, the department has liability to provide research
material to its students and scholars who mostly depend
on this department for their research activities in
the absence of any other for extending such facilities.
In this contest the Department, which has been entrusted
with the responsibility of producing students/research
scholars of high caliber as well as producing research
and teaching material to cater the needs of society,
requires to be strengthened and better equipped to
excel in the field of research and learning.
