Student's Activities :-

The Students of our Department have been participating actively in inter University competitions, like debates, histrionics, symposiums, seminars, workshops, educational tours, sports, NSS and other youth welfare programmes and awarded in Display Your Talent Contests. Also selected in N.E.T.

The Department acquired a T.V. and V.C.R. and has been using this facility to show educational movies to the students as a part of innovative approach to the study of literature.

Alumni Association :-

The Department was oneof the first to have an Alumni Association, in which the present students get a chance to interact with their peers. An annual late Prof. Apurab Somnath Bhakri Memorial Lecture is organized in which an eminent Literary personality of national/international repute delivers the lecture. A few of them are Prof. Bhim Singh Dahiya former Vice-Chancellor, Kurukshetra University and Prof. Kapil K. Kapoor Pro Vice-Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Most of our students have been employed and placed well in Journalism, Teaching etc.
Till date 23 Ph. Ds, 42 M. Phil Degrees have been awarded.
And 18 scholars are pursuing M. Phil. and 29 are registered for Ph. D.

Collaborative Activities :-

Department collaborative research programme on Contemporary American theatre is being evolved with Hart Ford Community College, Mayland, U.S.A.

Inter Disciplinary workshop on Canadian Studies in collaboration with Centre for New Literatures in September 2002.

Fellowship by the Indo-Shastri Candaian Institute in 1997.

Prof. was invited to attend the conference of Australian Association for Canadian Studies, 1998.
