The Department has made a lot of achievements since its inception and some of these are :-
Every faculty member has published books/articles on a variety of themes and some of these have been prescribed as Text Books by other Universities/Boards.
Some of the faculty members have the distinction to receive awards/honours from the state as well as outside the state agencies.
Thirty five candidates have been awarded Ph.D. Degree and Ninety one candidates have completed M. Phil from the Department of Punjabi.
A no. of candidates have cleared NET/SLEt and other competetive examinations.
The placement of the students of this department has been very encouraging. About thirty five students are college/University Teachers and fifteen + 2 teachers. Some of them have joined civil services.
