Students' Achievements :-

There is an excellent placement work track record of our students. Our students are making contributions in areas such as Higher Education, Indian Forest Services, Indian Administrative Services, Kashmir Administrative Services, various Scientific Institutes of the country etc. Besides, many of our students have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET), SLET and GATE exams. Numbers of UGC and CSIR research fellowships such as SRF and Post-Doctoral Fellowships (Research Associates) have been awarded to the researchers of the Department.

Local collection trips are organized for M. Sc. students twice in a year besides an annual study tour of 15 days duration is organized for the students of the third semester for sea shore animal collections as well as to aquaint them with various zoological parks, museum, wildlife sancturies, national parks, scientific institutes and universities in various parts of the country. The students of the department regularly participate in the extra-curricular activites organized by the University like Display your Talent Contest and Inter Departmental Sports Activities.

Other Activities :-

The Department has hosted number of Seminars/Conferences/Workshops and Refresher Courses etc. Special lecturs and quiz programmes are organized from time to time. Periodic seminar talks are delivered by research scholars and faculty members of the department in their area of research. The teachers and the research scholars of the department and present research papers in various conferences and seminars held in various parts of the country. The faculty members also attend various refresher courses and training programmes organized by different Institutes/Universities in India and Abroad for updating their academic persuits.
