ADVERTISEMENT NOTICE
(6) Senior Scientific Officer (USIC):
Ph.D/M.E/M.Tech. in instrumentation. Minimum eight years
experience in profession.
(7) Assistant Director (Adult Education)
i) Good academic record in the subject of Adult/Continuing
Community/Extension Education/Community Development from a
recognised Indian University or an equivalent degree from a
foreign University
ii) M.Phil. or Ph.D. in a subject related to adult learning
OR Ph.D. in a subject under Social Sciences or
Education/Evidence of published learning materials and
learning resources on areas listed in (i) above or published
in any of the relevant area/areas indicated above.
OR
i) Good academic record in the subject of Social
Sciences/Social Work/Humanities/Education/Sciences/Home
Science.
ii) Post Master's diploma in Adult and Continuing Education
from a recognised Indian University or an equivalent
diploma/degree from a foreign University
iii) M.Phil or a Ph.D. in a subject related to adult
learning or a Ph.D. in a subject under Social Sciences or
Education or Evidence of published learning materials and
learning resources in adult/continuing/extension
education/community development or published Research in any
of these area/areas. About five years experience of field
work/teaching or research in a subject having bearing on
Adult/Continuing Extension/Community/Non-Formal Education or
community Development. This condition may be relaxed on the
recommendation of the Selection Committee.
(8) System Engineer in Computer Centre
i) M.Tech (Computers)/M.E. (Computers)/MCA
ii) 8 years professional experience
(9,10&14)
Lecturer in Tourism Management/Sociology/MBA/MCA/English
Good academic record with at least 55% (50% in case of SC/ST
category candidates) of the marks or an equivalent grade of
B in the seven point scale with the letter grades O, A, B,
C, D, E and F at the Master's degree level in the relevant
subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree
from a foreign University. Besides fulfilling the above
qualifications, candidates should have passed the National
Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturers conducted by the UGC,
CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC. "NET shall
remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as
Lecturer even for candidates having Ph.D. Degree. However,
the candidates who have completed M.Phil. Degree by 31st
December 1993, or have submitted Ph.D. thesis to the
University in the concerned subject on or before 31st
December 2002, are exempted from appearing in the NET
examination. In case such candidates fail to obtain Ph.D.
degree, they shall have to pass the NET examination". A
relaxation of 5% (i.e. from 55% to 50%) marks at the
Master's Degree level may be provided to the candidates
having passed the JRF examination conducted by the UGC/CSIR
prior to 1989 and to such Ph.D. Degree holder as have passed
Master's Degree examination prior to 19th September,
1991.
(11) Assistant Registrar
Good Academic record plus Master's degree with at least 55%
(50% in the case of SC/ST category) of the marks or its
equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale.
(12) Assistant Librarian
i/ Qualifying in the National Level Test conducted for
the purpose by the UGC or an other agency approved by the
UGC.
ii/ Master's degree in Library Science/Information
Science/Documentation or an equivalent professional degree
with at least 55% (50% in the case of SC/ST category) of the
marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point
scale plus a consistently good academic record,
computerisation of Library.
(13) Employment Officer
The minimum educational qualification shall be a
Post-graduate degree with at least 55% marks or its
equivalent grade. Preferential Qualifications Ph.D. Research
Degree in Social Sciences/Education with 10 years experience
in the filed of Guidance and Counselling
(15) Assistant Engineer (Civil)
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with field
experience of five years. He should have supervised major
works, and should have clear concept of designs, estimation
and execution.
(16) Museum & Art Gallery Officer
Master of Fine Arts/Museuology with experience in
(i) Organising Art Campus
(ii) Producing Catalogues; and
(iii) Knowledge of Art History
(17) Assistant Director, CFQA
i/ Masters degree in management with at least 60%
marks.
ii/ Minimum 5 years experience of teaching/administration at
University level.
iii/ Exposure of working in windows environment-MS Windows,
Word, Excel, Power point.
iv/ Experience of being associated with Quality Management
System shall be a desirable qualification.
(18) Programmer in Centre for IT enabled Services &
Management
MCA/M.Tech/B.E/B.Tech. in Computers Sciences in 1st
Division (at least 60% of aggregate marks) from any
recognised University. The candidate should preferably have
at least two years experience in software development in
educational or any other reputed organisation.
(19) Scientific Officer in USIC
Ph.D/M.E/M.Tech. in instrumentation. Minimum five years
experience in profession.
Note-1:-Minimum requirement of 55% of marks at Master's
level shall not be insisted upon in respect of senior
Teachers/Administrative Officers who are already serving in
the University System/. However, the minimum requirement in
their case shall be at least 50% marks at Master's
level.
Prescribed application forms and other details like
qualifications, etc., can be obtained from the Assistant
Registrar (Forms and Stationery), University of Jammu,
Jammu, personally on payment of Rs. 200/- in cash at the
University Cash Counter OR by sending Bank Draft worth
Rs.250/-, drawn in favour of the Registrar, University of
Jammu, Jammu-180006, encashable at Jammu.
Application forms accompanied by attested copies of
qualification certificates/ testimonials including
experience certificate issued by the competent authority,
alongwith self-addressed envelope affixed with postal stamps
of Rs. 5/- be sent to the Registrar, University of Jammu,
Jammu, so as to reach him on or before 3rd July, 2006.
Notes - applicable to all the above posts:- 1. B in the
seven point scale with letter grades O,A,B,C,D,E and F shall
be regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system
is followed.

2. For determining "good academic
record", the following criteria shall be adopted:-
i) A candidate holding a Ph.D./M.Phil. degree should
possess at least a second class Master's degree; or
ii) A candidate without a Ph.D. degree should possess a high
second class Master's degree and second class in the
Bachelor's degree; or
iii) A candidate not possessing Ph.D. degree but possessing
second class Master's degree should have obtained first
class in the Bachelor's degree
3. If the number of applications received in response to
this advertisement in respect of any of the posts is large,
the University may shortlist the candidates on the basis of
qualifications and experience higher than the minimum
prescribed or by conducting a written/screening test. The
candidates finally approved by the Vice-Chancellor shall
only be invited for interview. The interview letters shall
be sent 'Under Registered Post". The University shall,
however, be not responsible for any postal
delay/lapse.
4. Applications by Government Servants should be sent
through the Administrative Authority concerned, by the
University Teachers/Employees through the Registrars of
their respective Universities and by the persons employed in
the private Firms and Institutions through the Heads of the
Firms/Institutions concerned. Applications not routed
through the respective channels are liable to be
rejected.
5. Applications received late or on plain paper or not
accompanied by attested copies of testimonials/certificates
or incomplete in any respect will not be entertained. The
candidates are advised to writ their names strictly as per
Matriculation/Higher Secondary Certificates. A self
addressed envelope bearing postal stamps worth Rs. 30/-
should also be annexed with the application form.
6. Candidates selected for appointment will be placed on
probation for one or two years as per recommendation of the
Selection Committee. During the probationary period their
services can be terminated on one month's notice or on
payment of one month's salary.
7. Candidates selected for appointment will have to produce
the original documents relating to their age,
qualifications, experience and fitness, etc., before joining
the post to which they are appointed.
8. Terms and conditions of appointment of candidates shall
be governed by the provisions of the Kashmir and
Universities Act, 1969, and the Statutes and Regulations
made there under from time to time. Where the University
does not have its own service rules, those prescribed by the
State Government for its employees are, mutatis mutandis,
applicable to the University employees also.
9. Candidates invited for interview will have to present
themselves for interview at Jammu at their own cost.
10. The number of vacancies shown is tentative and may
increase or decrease at the time of selection/interview.
Canvassing in any form by and on behalf of the candidate
will be a disqualification.
11. It will be open to the University to consider the names
of suitable candidates for the posts at Sr. No. 2,3, 9, 10
and 14 who may not have even applied for.
12. The University reserves the right not to fill up any or
all of the above vacancies advertised, if circumstances so
warrant.
