Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.)

No candidate shall be eligible for admission to the M.B.B.S. Programme until he/she:

  • Has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before first day of July of the year commencing the prescribed academic session of the said programme.
  • Has passed the Pre-Medical examination of the University of Jammu or the Higher Secondary Part – II (final) examination under the 10+2 pattern of school education of the Jammu & Kashmir State Board of School Education or an examination of any other University or Statutory Board recognized equivalent thereto for the purpose by the Academic Council securing not less than 50% marks in the aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together :

Provided that for candidates belonging to scheduled castes and such other categories, as are notified by the State Government for the purpose from time to time, the minimum marks required for admission shall be 40 percent in the aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the above examination.
