Doctor of
Philosphy in Various Faculties other than Faculty of Law

A candidate seeking admission to the Ph. D. Programme must
fulfill any of the following eligibility criteria :
i) M. Phil. Degree with atleast 'B' grade
or 50% marks in the subject concerned or a subject allied
to the one in which he desires to pursue research for Ph.D.
ii) Master's Degree with not less than 55% marks in aggregate
in the subject in which he desires to work for Ph. D.
iii) Any other Degree recognized as equivalent thereto
in the subject concerned or in a subject allied to the one
in which he intends to pursue research, with the requisite
%age of marks as mentioned above.
The Board of Research Studies shall decide whether or not
the proposed field of research is allied to the subject
in which the candidate has obtained his M. Phil. Degree
or has cleared programme work proposed for Ph. D. Programme.
iv) "A candidate, who has secured third division or second
division with marks less than 55% in Master's Degree, may
also be registered for Ph. D. Degree by the Board of Research
Studies on grounds of academic and intellectual attainments
evidenced by his published work."
